Strategist: Ignis the Furnace Master
Hello, folks! My name is
Dr. Dorkins
*
not important. What is important is that I have finally put together an Ignis guide. Many of you probably have the old giant on farm, but for those who don't - and the future generations - here it is!
Ignis the Furnace Master
is fire giant, located in Ulduar. It is unknown whether he was there originally, or if he was brought by
Loken
(although I prefer the former), but one thing is certain - he works for
Yogg-Saron
just as much as Loken did. He is the one who crafted Razorscale's metal armor, and the one who created Kologarn, literally from a chunk of stone. You can find him in his Colossal Forge, on the opposite side of Razorscale.

Not intended to make fun of Dorkins. I love the opening :)

Druid Q&A Follow-up
Apparently the
Druid Q&A
did raise points interesting enough for Bornakk to answer a few additional questions. I am not a very active druid player, but one of the things he said looks very interesting to me:
Please continue to
constructively
discuss...
Any chance I am not going to see any "
first
"s here? :P
As usually, you can find the full content of the Q&A at the following link, or after the break!

A Little Off-Topic: Fallen Earth Beta
I know that the Wowhead Blog is not exactly a source for general MMORPG news, but this seemed cool enough to bring to your attention.
The guys over at
ZAM
have set up a partnership with the makers of
Fallen Earth
to get special Beta invites for ZAM users. If you're interested in giving the game a shot, head on over and check it out!

Increase in Hacked Accounts: Cause for Concern?
As someone who's been reading and posting in Blizzard's
Customer Service Forum
for over a year now, I can tell you that I've seen my fair share of complaints. Sadly, though, I've been noticing an increase in one particular thing—the amount of accounts that have been compromised or "hacked."
Should this be a cause for concern? With the number of compromised accounts increasing by the day, in spite of the numerous warnings Blizzard has put out, maybe it's time to both clear up the misconceptions as to how an account can become compromised and remind ourselves what we can do to prevent a compromise from happening—or for some of us, from having it happen again.

Reduced Cooldown on Paid Character Transfers
Eyonix, on the official forums, has just let us know that they're changing the cooldown on paid character transfers from 30 days to 3 days, in an effort to lend a hand to people who make a character transfer they regret!
Lot of big changes coming up for transfers these days. I'm definitely curious to hear how you guys feel this is going to affect the game experience.

Goblins and Worgen
Update
: New set of masks was released in Build 10128 - MMO-Champion was quick to capture them again
here
.
I know many of you use
MMO-Champion
for news, quick references, and other goodies. I do too. And, chances are, you have noticed (or will soon notice), a pretty bold title on the front page:
Goblins and Worgens are the new races of the Expansion
. I know threads about it will start popping like
Healthy Spores
after an
Ancient Conservator
. So I thought I'd make a blog about it and keep the comments in one place. I am so handy!
If you haven't read
Boubouille
's justification on the "new races" (it is by no means confirmed by Blizzard), read on after the break!

Warrior Q&A with Ghostcrawler
A little late on this one too! What with all the time we're spending on the
Profiler
combined with some big news we have for next week, and we're a little slower on the draw than usual this week. But here it is, the Warrior Q&A! Thanks to
MasterofDisguise
for helping me throw the blog together.
I can't comment much on the actual content here, Warrior is not a class that I play—the rage mechanic never really appealed to me, and the interview below indicates the same may be true of the developers!
You can read the entire interview after the break, or read the original one linked below:

WoW Armory for the iPhone: A Review
Now THIS is interesting. I assume all of you who are both Blizzard fans and iPhone owners have already heard the news, but for those of you who haven't: Today, Blizzard released the
WoW Armory app for the iPhone
. I'm a Mac user and an iPhone owner, so I thought I'd take the time to write a quick review.
I've also included a gallery of screenshots, and the text of the actual app info in the iTunes store. Check after the break to see all the info. :)

Druid Q&A with Ghostcrawler
Aaaand, another Q&A was released. Yes, that was yesterday, but we will still bring the news, even if they are not fresh from the oven. I was only moderately satisfied with the Paladin one, since it didn't really say anything about Protection that I didn't already know... But since the next alt I level is going to be
my druid
(yes, he is horrible), I am a bit excited to see what GC has to say about Druids. Are you too? Follow the link (it has some really nice art) or keep reading after the break then!

Wowhead: New "Starts quest" Tab on Zone Pages
Have you ever wondered what items drop in a zone that will start a new quest?
No? ...oh. Well... go away.
For those who
are
interested, we have tweaked our zone pages by adding a new tab labeled 'Starts quest'. As you might imagine, clicking on it will list
items that drop in the zone that will start a quest
.
Ok, the rest of you can come back now.

Strategist: Razorscale
Welcome back to the Strategist (or just "welcome", if it's your first time here)! A while ago I went over the
Flame Leviathan
fight in Ulduar. This week I hope to give you not only
Razorscale
(which you will read about in this issue), but
Ignis the Furnace Master
as well.
Razorscale is...was a Proto-drake better known under the name Veranus. She was a Broodmother among the Proto-drakes, and has been
Thorim
's loyal mount and friend for many years. Unfortunately when Loken defeated Thorim not that long ago, Veranus was captured, but not killed - Loken mentions that he has other plans for her. Now we know what they were - Ignis the Furnace Master crafted an armor of some sort for Veranus. Her scales were plated with steel as sharp as razor - hence the name. Now Razorscale lives in her Aerie in Ulduar, just between the Formation Grounds and the Scrapyard. She is an optional boss, but not a hard one.

New Icons in PTR Build 10083
Build 10083 of the PTR was released today. In it were some small updates to spells, but nothing extravagant. I was about to end my day in The Datamines when I came across a rare boss: Iconus! As you know, you almost never see Iconus unless a new version of WoW is on the horizon, so when I saw him I was eager to take advantage of the opportunity. The skull beside his portrait worried me, but I had leveled many times since our last encounter and I figured I could take him down by myself.
I was wrong.
I gathered as many guild members as I could and we went back into The Datamines. 42 wipes, 250g in repairs, and plenty of cursing later, we downed Iconus. Nearly salivating, I looted his corpse... and found
1
new icon. :(
Furthermore, it was not an upgrade for any of us. However, it is Bind on Equip. Who wants it?

PTR Build 10072 Goodies, Supplemental
Some of you may recall that Malgayne
asked industrious PTR users to send us their World of Warcraft cache files
so we could mine them for the proverbial 'tasty dataz'. Well,
Teza

Wowraid

42
items that were

items discovered in 3.2
to

!
For those of you who wish to help out in this endeavor, you can send the contents of your %World of Warcraft PTR Install Directory%\Cache\WDB\enUS\ to feedback@wowhead.com.

Paladin Q&A with Ghostcrawler
As a player whose main is a Paladin, this was the interview I was looking forward to the most. I had some mixed feelings about what Ghostcrawler had to say in some parts of the interview, but overall I'd have to say it was mostly a good indication that the fate of the Paladin class wasn't as horrible as some people thought it was. But let's see what you folks think—you can read the entire interview after the break, or read the original one linked below!

Wowhead Comic #21
Happy Midsummer Fire Festival, everyone!
Uh, nevermind. I'm a bit late for that now. Oh well! Its done at least.
Here's a Festival comic written by our lovely
Miyari
. She raised the technicalities relating to the quests to
steal
the
flames
of the other factions main cities. So you've taken a flame, great! How? On a stick? And even then, where do you keep it, to stop it going out on your rush back to hand it into the NPC?
How about in your pocket? Well, that wouldn't be very safe now, would it? Your clothes would catch on fire..
Apologies again for the lack of comics lately, I've been incredibly busy, and I still don't have a full time comic writer!
Reminder: If you have any short WoW related comic scripts, or any comic ideas, please dont be afraid to mail them to me via
feedback@wowhead.com
, I do read them all, even if I dont have the time to draw them all!
Edit: Yes. Miyari is wearing Horde-Boxer-S
